U2 Quiz! (3 Dreams)

December 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

EDIT: The first dream wasn’t a dream. I’m told. By Stephen Fry, and he (if anyone) should know. http://twitter.com/stephenfry/status/6600458536

:)

I had a lovely U2 dream today. It did not had a lot of U2 in it, but it was lovely anyway…

I was in a building (called ‘C’) and there was going to be a U2 quiz there. Anyone was allowed to join, so I  happily joined the other 20 contestants. Now we had to wait for the presenters to arrive. The presenters of the quiz were Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie!!! :D The quiz started, but there were no questions about U2 in it. There were questions like: In which of these 5 videos acts Jeeves like John Cleese? (Stephen Fry is Jeeves in the series Jeeves and Wooster) I thought: “I should know this! I’ve seen Jeeves and Wooster, I know John Cleese and I have seen those 5 videos before on YouTube!” I answered that it was the 4th video, but I had it wrong! I somehow managed to survive this round and made it all the way to the semi-final. In that round you had to cook something. You were put in a team and my team decided to make spaghetti with a sauce. Another team was making tea with butter and for some reason I decided to help the other team (also big U2 fans). I successfully made tea, sliced the butter, put the butter in the tea and the only thing that remained to be done was to pour the tea into a cup. I tried to do it very carefully, but somehow I spilled everything! The man who I was helping watched me in despair and managed to say “We appreciate that you tried to help us.” I knew however that he was thinking that I wasted their precious time. I felt sorry for them and returned to my own team. The spaghetti looked OK, but the sauce was a disaster. It was fine until we added another ingredient to it and we had to make the sauce all over again. The time was now almost up and in the last minute we just added all the ingredients to the spaghetti in the hope that we would get some points. The spaghetti looked rather funny (it looked more like a salad bowl than spaghetti), so we hoped that Stephen and Hugh would give us points for that. They didn’t. At least not enough points for us to go to the final. I wasn’t that disappointed not to be in the final, because Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie were doing sketches while the ones in the final had other things to do. I don’t remember a lot from the sketches, but I do know they were very funny!

I had another (shorter) U2 dream today:
@U2 was holding a contest were you could win U2 tickets for any show you wanted! You had to sent in the robot you had designed. I thought this was very unfair, because I could not join… There were a few days left to sent in your robot design and I doubted whether I should try to design a robot. I decided not to design a robot and instead think about how lovely it would be if I could win tickets for a U2 concert…

And lastly a dream from yesterday:
I’m in a room with Edge and a couple of other people and we’re sitting round a table. The walls are the same colour as in my own room, but there are other U2 clippings and posters on the wall. I show Edge some photos and he listens very attentively. I also have a photo of U2 where they are about 20 years old. I don’t know how I got that photo, because I’ve never seen it before and it’s definitely not taken by me, because I would have been -10 years old. I remember how Adam looked on that photograph, because he had a little beard which looked rather silly. :P

Total U2 dreams: 69
Adam: 15
Bono: 23
Edge: 22
Larry: 13
U2 concert: 13

U2+House Dream

December 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Hurrah! Another U2+House dream! :D (excellent combination!)

I was thinking about House and U2 in my dream and suddenly I thought Wait a second!! Didn’t U2 show House on the screen during their concerts? I wasn’t certain, so I typed “U2 House MD” in Google images and found my own pictures! I clicked on one of them and saw House (wearing his red shirt) on the screens! I thought Why can’t I remember this?!! but than I have a flashback and am in the Amsterdam Arena again :D U2 are playing a song and I now see a younger Hugh Laurie on the screens :)

As always, it was great to be back in the Arena again :)

House dreams: 22
U2 dreams: 66

Somehow I’m much better at remembering details from U2 dreams than House dreams. It happened a few times that I woke up and the only thing I could remember was that it had House in it, but with no details whatsoever :(
not even a clue what it was about…

House and U2

November 14, 2009 · 2 Comments

House/Hugh Laurie and U2 have more in common than you might think…

  • They’re both musically ;)
  • They both get asked questions that are asked a thousand times before:
HOUSE: “Hugh, not a lot of people know this, but you’re not from America!”,  “Hugh, is it true that you’re father’s a doctor?”
U2: “Larry, is it true that you started the band?” and the usual questions to Adam/Edge/Larry about Bono’s work for charity
  • House and U2 are both funny.
  • Some lines get stuck in my head:
HOUSE: “You Idiot!” “No, no that’s not what happened!” :’0
U2: “She’s running to stand still” etc.
  • Both smart.
  • I dream about both of them.
    HOUSE: 21 dreams
    U2: 65 dreams
  • Hugh and U2 are about the same age.
  • They both make me wait impatiently until something new comes out.
HOUSE: I watched the promos for Known Unknowns, because I couldn’t wait two weeks (I’ll try not to do that again)
U2: I listened to the 30 seconds previews before NLOTH came out (I’ll try not to do that again)
  • They’re both very lovable :)
  • They can make me get up early.
HOUSE: 08:00 on Tuesdays for new episodes
U2: 04:15 to watch the Rose Bowl concert live on YouTube
  • They’re unlike other series/bands.
  • HOUSE: good use of music
U2: good use of tv? :P
  • HOUSE: The set is brilliant.
U2: The Claw, PopMart, ZooTV etc.  all brilliant!
  • They’re hard-working.
  • It never bores! I can watch/listen to it again and again!
  • I have posters/clippings of both of them on my wall :D
  • They can make me cry:
HOUSE: the season finales of 4 and 5
U2: With Or Without You, Miss Sarajevo (live from Milan) etc. etc.
  • HOUSE: I would love to be on the set
U2: I would love to be in the studio!
  • HOUSE: If I could I would tell the writers that I want more Huddy :P
U2: If I could I would tell U2 that I want to hear Love Is Blindness live :)
  • I want both of them to go on making new episodes/songs for ever!!!
  • HOUSE: Best television series in the world!!!
U2: Best band in the world!!!

Like An Edge On A Wall

November 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I can see Edge everyday!! Well, at least everyday I go to Amsterdam with the train :P

When I first saw ‘him’ I was obviously laughing and it still makes me smile every morning :P

This is what I’m talking about:Like An Edge On A Wall

Can you find EDGE? :P

There are actually more Edges and in different forms. I think I’ve seen about 5 different types. There are small white curly ones which I saw before the big one above, but I actually doubted whether it really spelled Edge, because there was a weird dot above the ‘e’  and there is also a nice green Edge ;)
